About the Event

In 2019, ESTIDAMA participated in a UN-Habitat Urban Session, delivering a presentation on Green Construction with a particular focus on the role of green vegetated roofs in creating more sustainable and resilient cities. The session highlighted how vegetated roof systems contribute to reducing urban heat islands, improving building energy efficiency, enhancing stormwater management, increasing urban biodiversity, and promoting healthier living environments. The presentation also explored the potential for integrating green roofs into Lebanon’s urban landscape as an effective nature-based solution to address climate change, strengthen environmental resilience, and support sustainable urban development.
