About the Event

Following the Beirut Port explosion in August 2020, ESTIDAMA mobilized a team of volunteer architects and engineers to support the rapid assessment of damaged buildings and affected neighborhoods. Working alongside professional bodies and humanitarian partners, the volunteers conducted structural and safety assessments, documented damage, and provided technical recommendations to help prioritize emergency interventions and recovery efforts. This voluntary initiative contributed to protecting public safety, supporting displaced families, and laying the groundwork for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of one of Lebanon’s most devastated urban areas.
